Les Mates Ravine

Impressive ravine with 17 rappels, many of which can be climbed down. It is a dry ravine that only carries water during periods of heavy rainfall. If we do it after rainfall, we can enjoy it with water throughout its entire length. In summer, it is best to avoid the middle of the day. Be careful with the fifth 18-meter rappel and its trap pothole (easily avoidable).

Approximation

Leaving La Llar de Beniarda in the direction of the swimming pool, follow this road and cross the bridge, turn right (towards the dam), ignore a turn-off on the left and continue towards the dam until you reach the next turn-off (Guadalest dam 3.8), where you turn left. You will be on Camí de Castells. You can park your car very close by, next to some ruins that you will see about 700 m after the turn-off. Here, there is a track on the left. Follow it uphill until you reach a chain across the road. From here, 30 m after a right-hand bend, there is a small path marked with a milestone. Follow it uphill to the start of the ravine.

The exit is not difficult, as we will follow the ravine until we reach the trail, then descend it to the car.

If you are staying at our house, we will provide you with the route on GPS.
